And I'm sorry, but blends just don't do it for me.

I suspect you've simply not come across the better end of blends. As with anything else, there are good blends and there are bad blends - and without doubt more of the latter when comparing it to single malts (considering that something like 90% of scottish whisky qualify as blends). When you have a high end, exclusive blend consisting of primarily a high quality aged single malt, carefully mixed with hand picked malt and grain whiskys of various ages and characteristics to construct a unique flavor profile, by an experienced master blender, it is in my opinion utter bullshit to say that it can not be enjoyable (if you like whisky at all, that is). You won't find them in the cheap aisle, though. wink.png

If you are going to be one of those who consequently steer clear of blends merely because they are not a single malt (aka 'wannabe connoisseurs'), I pitty you for what you are going to miss of whisky experiences. happy.png

My pain is constant and sharp and I do not hope for a better world for anyone, in fact I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape, but even after admitting this there is no catharsis, my punishment continues to elude me and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself; no new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. My gf gave me a bottle of 10-year old Laphroaig. Sitting here and just enjoying life, what a damn fine whisky this is. My god.

"Another women's issue, prostitution. I do not understand why prostitution is illegal. Why should prostitution be illegal. Selling is legal. Fu****g is legal. Why isn't selling fu****g legal? You know, why should it be illegal to sell something that's perfectly legal to give away. I can't follow the logic on that at all. Of all the things you can do to a person, giving someone an orgasm is hardly the worst thing in the world. In the army they give you a medal for spraying napalm on people. Civilian life, you go to jail for giving someone an orgasm. Maybe I'm not supposed to understand it." - GEORGE CARLIN

You're all a bunch of alcoholics!

ALCOHOLICS I TELL YOU! grin.png

I tend to stay away from stronger liquors. I barely ever drink alcohol at my house (so no point buying a bottle) and the stuff at the bars is too expensive for the little amount you get.

I'm passing on this one. I quit drinking loads of alcohol last year. I'm usually not going stronger than Jenever (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jenever).

And even thats been a year now I think.

I don't need any more exercise! I get enough exercise jumping to conclusions, flying off the handle, running my mouth, dodging responsibility, and pushing my luck!!

An excellent choice, no doubt you have great taste. But my choice is more for JW.. tongue.png

Reference: JW BLACK LABEL 100 YEARS - LIMITED EDITION

Description: Johnnie walker black label 12 Years special commemorative edition of 100 Years of "Striding Man"

When tasting JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL, enjoy the result of more than 180 years of art: the art of creating a harmonious blend with about 40 of the finest malt and grain Scotch wiskies, aged for a minimum of 12 years, to form a single scotch whiskey flavor and unsurpassed quality.

Four flavors are highlighted: vanilla cream, fresh fruit, full-bodied fruit and earth aromas.

For all these features, BLACK LABEL, is considered a symbol of sophistication and style. happy.png
