This topic is a guideline meant to help our players and admins towards a better understanding of our rules regarding roofing and walking out of bounds. It has been made in cooperation with the other admins, to make sure it is reasonably accurate and represents the baseline of what our admins will enforce.
Please note that the examples shown in this topic is not necessarily complete and does NOT grant you the right to use spots that are not mentioned here but still clearly against our server rules. This is meant to help you, but you are still expected to know the rules and use common sense. Simplified, the basic gague we use is the following: QUOTE (Simplified version of our rule #20) If you cannot get to an area in an unmodified version of the game you are playing, with the use of normal game aspects such as jumping or getting a (one man) boost from another player – you are NOT allowed to be there. Areas where you can see through (top of) walls/roofs are considered out of bounds and therefore illegal. Game exploits/bugs are not considered normal game aspects. Make sure you read the full rule (#20) here (link) for the details / fine print. Areas that are punishable by warning, kick or ban (depending on the situation), are marked as disallowed in the images by a highlighted area and a red circle with a line across. Some areas are marked as allowed (green V + highlight) to avoid confusion/misunderstandings. The image description comes first, followed by the image it applies to. If you have any questions or see maps and/or spots that are missing, feel free to leave a comment in this topic. Please note that some questions/answers will be added to the F.A.Q. post below this one. De_vertigo The marked edges are not allowed, as you can not get there with a one-man boost. ![]() De_dust_krystal578 The marked edges are not allowed, as you can not get there with a one-man boost. Neither is the two other shown things. ![]() Edges, top boxes etc. are not allowed. The lower box is though. ![]() These edges obviously conflicts with the OoB rule, and are not allowed. Nor is it allowed to jump on the boxes to look above the walls! ![]() De_dust2_br The top ledges aren't allowed. The only exception is the ledge/rock marked with green. ![]() It is allowed to be placed upon the boxes (one of them on which I'm sitting and the one right next to me). It is on the other hand not allowed to be behind the other boxes, and that area is therefore marked with red. It should be quite clear about now, but again: the edges aren't allowed either! ![]() De_aztec_15 Same story. The edges aren't allowed. The three-box high pillars aren't allowed either. The two big boxes are though. ![]() Edges, three-box high pillars still aren't allowed. ![]() You can get onto the first plateau, as you can jump up onto the boxes by yourself (do as marked with the black arrow). And if two people do that they will be able to boost one onto the plateau. Therefore it's allowed as marked. The other plateau is obviously not allowed, though. ![]() De_aztec2003 Three-box high pillars, edges aren't allowed- with the exception of the very first three-box high pillar at the spawn. The boxes in the middle of the bombsite are allowed though. ![]() The boxes are allowed, as you can jump up on them with a one man boost. You can jump onto the edge by yourself, from the boxes, but this edge is prohibited due to our rules. Therefore it is NOT allowed. The three plateaus/areas are allowed, as you can jump between them by yourself in regular CS. ![]() As before. Three-box high pillars aren't allowed. Nor is the plateaus on top of the pillars in the wall. ![]() Cs_italy_b2k Shows some spots and roofs that aren't allowed. Except the one marked with green of course. ![]() The balcony and the roof is actually allowed, due to there being an invisible ladder (marked with a black arrow). The other roofs shown aren't allowed though. ![]() The balcony from the previous picture is of course still allowed. All the roofs shown aren't allowed though. ![]() Cs_office2 It's allowed to be where I'm placed, it isn't allowed to be above the windows marked with red, though. ![]() The area behind the box is actually allowed, as you can get there be throwing a HE grenade at the windows near T spawn. ![]() The only way to get there is by using teleport or roofing and therefore it's not allowed. ![]() cs_dust_DumB You can not get onto these edges in regular CS, and besides that part of the edges is also out of bounds. Therefore NOT allowed. ![]() You can not get onto these edges in regular CS, and besides that part of the edges is also out of bounds. Therefore NOT allowed. ![]() de_dust2002 The upper roofs are of course roofing and therefore not allowed. The two bridges (or whatever they are called) are allowed, as you can jump up upon them with a one man boost. ![]() The plateaus on the right and left side are allowed, as you can jump there by yourself in regular CS. The bridge in the middle is not allowed on the other hand, as you can't get there in regular CS. ![]() As before - this is of course roofing. ![]() Just to clear it out - these bridges are allowed. ![]() de_dust_castle You can jump up upon the edges with a one-man boost. And that goes for the lower box as well. The upper boxes can't be reached this way, though, and therefore not allowed. ![]() This is actually an addition to the previous picture, as you could jump up upon the edge. And if you run along that very edge you can reach the places marked with green. ![]() Loads of edges/spots which aren't allowed. Either due to the OoB rule else wise they are considered roofing. ![]() The bridge isn't allowed, due to the same reasons as many of the above. The area just below me are allowed though, as you can jump there yourself. ![]() The plateau is not allowed, as you can't get there in regular CS. Nor is the two other marked plateaus. ![]() de_dustybleek These edges are not allowed either, as you can't jump up upon them in regular CS. Nor are the upper box due to the same reason. ![]() These edges aren't allowed either. As this image clearly states they are in conflict with the OoB rule. Furthermore you can't even get up upon them with or without a one-man boost. ![]() A whole lot of spots which aren't allowed. ![]() These edges aren't allowed either. ![]() de_inferno_15 You cannot access this roof with use of a one-man boost, hence not allowed ![]() Just to clarify it - you can get onto this roof with the use of a one-man boost, and therefore it is allowed

List of F.A.Q.
The list will have a question (short: Q) and an answer (short: A). In example: Q: If I am able to access a roof with a one-man boost; but this allows me to see through the top of the wall - is this allowed? A: No, that is not allowed, as it would be breaking the rule about being "out of bounds". Full list is coming soon -------------------- "Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? People keep threatening to report me for using the "green" spots:(
Dont know why, but there seems to be a widespread difficulty to accept (and comprehend) the 1-man boost rule. Some people think that roofing means to literally stand on something that has a roof texture 8even if said roof would happen to be 1 foot above ground...), others confuse it with skywalking. oh well, guess expecting everybody to be as perfect as me is a lot to ask:P Cheers Carn and all the others involved for this lovely little guide, showed me a bunch of new hideouts ^^;; -------------------- |

I am a bit unsure which picture you are referring to, but I'm pretty sure you can get to the areas marked with green and a V with the use of a one-man boost!

one map that may have been over looked or omitted is de_inferno15, clarity on no go area's would be appreciated as I have 2 screen shots of 2 seperate players in places that maybe considered roofing.
