A One Night Cup!

Thursday the 15th of October 2009
Starting @ 19:30 BST*

Round 1 - 19:30 BST*
Round 2 - 20:00 BST*
Round 3 - 20:30 BST*
Final - 21:15 BST*

IRC REQUIRED
#dumber and #dumber.cup on Quakenet


* BST is British Summer Time. You can go to the world clock (link - click), lookup a city in your own timezone and check your local starting time.

How to sign up:
Post your Alias and SteamID as a reply to this thread (e.g. [DumB]Carnivorous - STEAM_0:1:1673829)

This will be a 16 player cup, however, if there is sufficient interest (i.e. an extra 8 or 16 players) we will endeavour to run a second cup later in the week.
If we are i.e. 18 players the latest two will be back-ups and be used in case of some one not showing on the cup-night.

Rules:
  1. First player to reach a score of 15 rounds wins the match & moves forward to the next round (straight knockout elimination).
  2. You may only use the gun(s) you are spawned with (Sub-machine gun)
  3. Use the alias and SteamID you registered with at signup - this is while playing the match and at IRC.
  4. Players MUST record a demo (POV) during game play (in console type: record demoname). This must be made availabe upon request from an admin. You should also take a screenshot of the final score to help avoid any disagreements.
  5. The only allowed language is English.
  6. Cheating is strictly prohibited. Anyone caught cheating will be removed from the cup and banned from all DumB servers. Servers will be operating in sv_pure 2 mode so all custom content will be blocked.
  7. Abuse towards other players or admins will not be tolerated and can result in being removed from the cup.
  8. No rescheduling of matches is allowed.
  9. In the event of a noshow (10 minutes after the scheduled starting time) a default will be awarded. If you do not show up for the event you may be excluded from future DumB Cups.
  10. Rates are enforced at a minimum of: rate 15000; cl_cmdrate 50; cl_updaterate 50. Recommended rates are: rate 25000; cl_cmdrate 100; cl_updaterate 100.
  11. Player average ping must not exceed 150ms.
  12. Bunnyhopping is prohibited. If you are caught bunnyhopping you will lose that round (repeated offences may cause the loss of the game). Bunnyhopping is defined as gaining speed by repeated strafe jumping.
  13. If a player crashes or times out they have 5 minutes to reconnect to the server (score will resume at the point of the crash/time-out) before a default is awarded.
  14. If you wish to conflict a match you must speak to an admin within 10 minutes of the game ending.
  15. You should idle #dumber and #dumber.cup on Quakenet for the duration of the event. (If you do not wish to install a client such as mIRC or ChatZilla you can use a webchat: dumbclan.co.uk/chat or webchat.quakenet.org)
  16. Match results should be announced in #dumber.cup immediately after a played match.
