had a sweet few rounds of there last night, 1st time in ages tbh after my graphics card dying but once again ive come on and there's only me and waah on server. shame really as its a kick ass server, good fun, good banter etc. would be nice to get some peeps over from 10 to get it rocking again.

Yea, I'd love to see #11 being full more often too - it's good fun! And the performance of the server is a lot better now than before the hardware failure!

We just need more people like you to fill the server!

So, in the spirit of dragging up an old thread, what the hell has happened to #11. When I used to play before it was always full, but since recently coming back it's rare that there are more than 8 people on there!

Do you have some kind of mod that makes the server look like it has 21 people on there? Because it's rather annoying, I can't imagine that I'm the only one who thinks this either. The server browsers don't show that it's bots so you have to look at the player list to see how many people are actually on the server. Could I really be the only person who sees '21/33' and get's frustrated when joining the server it turns out there are only 2 players on there? I know you're probably doing it as a way to encourage people to join, but if anything, it probably turns people off when they realise what it really is.

Anyway, half decent server when there's enough people on, big shame that it's not as busy as it used to be.

"What the hell happened" is the big question, we're not entirely sure to be honest. In a nutshell, people such as yourself abandoned the server and it slowly died over the course of about a years time - despite our best efforts to a) find out what the problem was, b) try to keep it alive. We suspect it was a big mix of events ranging from losing functional fake clients (which made a big difference in regards to populating the server), perhaps performance/reg related issues, a few admins being a little too harsh, and people generally getting a little tired of 32 player dust2 24/7 servers. More and more of them popped up everywhere, and many copied the kind of setup we had (bank, etc). In the end we saw that we were far from alone in having this particular type of server die down, many of the popular 32 player ones somehow ended up with the same destiny.

After moving the server to new hardware (as well as doing a full makeover of the setup) we now have top notch performance, and we are slowly but surely seeing an increase in players / popularity. If you truly would like #11 back to something that resembles what we used to have, the best thing you can do is to play there regularly and help us build up a proper playerbase again. We have seen more and more old regulars return to the server lately, and we are also seeing some new ones sticking around, so there's certainly hope. (The 24h average is currently ~8 players, around 15-16 would be a pretty busy server)

Hey c'mon now, I didn't simply abandon the server, I've had issues with my graphics card (only on css) for the past year and haven't played the game at all, other than in the hope that I had fixed the issue! :@

i went through a phase of playing no public for 6 months or, clan matches coming out my eyes at points, still be good seeing the server alive again, just 1 thing, bobibopo please die and stop deagle'ing me argh

People have grown tired of d2, it was the main map for so many years, but it only lasts so long.
There are still SOME servers taht run on d2 only and barely any of them is successful, the reason for SOME of them still running is not cuz of good performance or anything, its just because they're fixed on a group of ppl ( for example a DUTCH server, a NOR/FR server and so on, but when u go, you only see ppl from that country, this method can't rly be used for english speaking ppl unfortunately).

Maybe what you need to do is install some new mods, and rotate it on some maps or something
It's not easy to find the right set, tbh there are server like VIA... the most retarded maprotation i've ever seen, but so many players play on it...
or just choose another map and try that

Actually, the server has picked up quite a bit the last month in particular, so it's not really an issue any more.

An yeah Carn is right the server did pickup in recent months and is getting filled more often which is an awesome thing.

IMO office is the map that is way over played and as TeX says "Office is for pussies, real MEN play DD2"

Right... I've seen a lot more people in #11 recently. I cannot understand why Office server 10 is so popular though! Claustropobic corridors! nadespam! Team wounding abungo! AAAAAAHHHHHHH!

BTW is it just me, or are the chat messages that say "Fire in the hole" for someone throwing a nade, missing on #11?

Noticed it as well, though the way i noticed it is, if you are not in a vicinity of someone that throws a nade you dont get the radio chat message. (at least that's what i recall now, gonna pop on later and see.)
